Impacted wisdom teeth are usually very painful and can literally impact your daily routine. Any patient will start to notice a few symptoms here and there that will inevitably worsen as this condition continues to develop.

Throbbing pain. When your wisdom teeth become impacted, it will cause a tremendous amount of pain especially when it worsens in the back region of your mouth and jaw. This is a warning sign that you have a tooth impaction and need to act quickly.

Swollen and/or bloody gums. Your gums as a result of impacted wisdom teeth will become swollen, tender or even bloody when pressure is applied to the area. While your wisdom teeth are located towards the back of your mouth, swelling can become present in the lower jaw and even by the ears when they are impacted.

Headaches. Impacted wisdom teeth can result in headaches in areas of the jaw and skull. This pain can also possibly spread to other areas of the skull including the face, glands, neck and shoulders.

If you are experiencing one or more of these warning signs you should contact your dentist right away.
